About us

The year was 1982 when our parents found a small kiosk, almost never open, by the Göta canal in Söderköping. When they later found out that it was up for sale they did not hesitate to snatch it up! Their first year, they tested the waters, and soon learned the old kiosk needed to grow. Using their experience in the restaurant industry, the family decided to turn their business into a unique and personal ice cream restaurant. Renamed Smultronstället, the ice cream restaurant became a place for guests to enjoy the environment as well as fanciful ice cream creations.

Today we have around 65 employees and 150 seats. The menu consists of 60 self-designed ice cream arrangements to everyone’s liking and taste. We sell about 75,000 liters of ice cream and serve about 180,000 guests yearly.
